My name is Torran Bridge and I am doing an I.T. course at Selby College. I still do not know what I want to do when I leave college, but I do know that I would like to go to university and possibly do something in either graphic or game design.
When I was first given my work placement at Creative Shed Agency, I googled the company and was excited because I had never done anything in web development or marketing before. I saw an opportunity to gain experience and learn about something new.
Another reason I had to be excited is that I have never had a job or worked anywhere before. As I am doing work experience at Creative Shed Agency over a whole year, working one day a week, it gives me an idea of what working is like and what it will be like.
On my first day of work experience at Creative Shed Agency, I met everybody and learned more about what I would be doing. I was looking forward to it because I would be helping in the graphic design areas, which means I would be helping design logos and other things like that.
The staff are also very kind and are always happy to answer my questions about the tasks that I am doing. They also always have work for me to do, so I am never stuck doing nothing and waiting for a new task.
Whilst I have been at Creative Shed Agency, I have learnt a lot about graphic design, specifically the Adobe Illustrator application. I had never used this application before I started work experience, but I was still able to get used to it and learn the basics pretty quickly because of my previous experience with other Adobe Photoshop software.
However, I had no experience or knowledge of graphic design when I first started at Creative Shed Agency. I have really enjoyed learning how to do graphic design tasks, and I am still learning new things as I go. Recently, I have been taking tutorials on graphic design, particularly logo design. I find it very interesting because a lot of things must be shown in a logo: obviously the name, but also the actual logo must also hint at what the company or organisation does.
So far, I have really been enjoying my time at Creative Shed Agency and I’m learning a lot. I’m still uncertain of what I would like to do when I leave college, but my ongoing work experience at Creative Shed Agency has helped me to be sure that I would really like to do something in graphic or game design.
Creative Shed Agency have made a massive impact on our business and the amount of enquiries which we get which is also represented in our turnover.
They created a website, the content, advised us carefully and understood what we did. This is a really flexible, modern and easy to use website that meets our needs and surely would meet the needs of other businesses.
It suits my brand really well, and I have had loads of compliments about it. It's something that I can feel really proud of. One of the best things about my website is that Creative Shed didn't just design and develop it and then leave me to it. If I have any questions they are always on hand to help me.
We have more than doubled our membership numbers since the launch of our new website. We all feel that this is as a direct result of having our new website from Creative Shed Agency.
At the beginning of this year, we were delighted to hear that we had been shortlisted for Creative and Digital Business of the Year at the Selby District Business Awards. […]
